Bronchoscopy

When doing a bronchoscopy, a doctor inserts a long fiberoptic scope through the mouth into the trachea and then into the lung’s main airways. The doctor can see anything in the lining of the airways. If the doctor can see the tumor, he can remove a small sample of tissue from it. This is one way of getting a biopsy to diagnose mesothelioma.
